Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has approved the reconstitution of the Governing Council of Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), Gadau. This follows the report submitted by a Visitation Panel that reviewed the university’s operations.
The governor appointed Professor Gambo Laraba Abdullahi, a respected scholar and education expert, as the new Chairperson of the Governing Council. He expressed confidence in her leadership and urged the council to collaborate with university management to enhance academic standards and governance. Governor Mohammed said the move is part of his government’s efforts to reposition SAZU for academic excellence and sustainable development. He congratulated all newly appointed members and wished them success.
Other members of the reconstituted council include Alhaji Suleiman G. Abdulkadir, Professors Isa Yashi, Sabo Hamma, and Mohammed Babangida, as well as Comfort Audu and representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and the Office of the Head of Civil Service.
