Chrisland University, Abeokuta, has deepened its collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ogun State Command, in a renewed effort to combat drug abuse among students and within its host community.
During a courtesy visit to the university, the Ogun State NDLEA Commandant, Tijjani Rabe, commended the institution for being the only one in the state maintaining an active partnership with the agency. He praised the school’s proactive measures and expressed optimism about strengthening the relationship.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Oyedunni Arulogun, represented by her deputy, Professor Olatunde Farombi, emphasised the university’s commitment to fighting drug abuse through intelligence sharing, awareness campaigns, and joint sensitisation programmes. She added that the university is also open to collaborative research with the NDLEA to better understand and address drug-related issues among youth.
Both parties agreed to support rehabilitation efforts and promote a drug-free environment through workshops, expert-led campaigns, and peer education.
The visit is part of Chrisland’s broader strategy to safeguard student welfare and reinforce its position as a socially responsible institution.
