Dr. Adeola A. Odebode, Acting Director, Centre for Management and Leadership Ilorin (CMLI)

The Centre for Management and Leadership Ilorin (CMLI) is set to host major leadership initiatives in 2026, the Acting Director, Dr Adeola A. Odebode, has announced.

Speaking with UNILORIN Bulletin on Monday (December 1, 2025), Dr Odebode said the 2026 Leadership Summit, scheduled for May, will carry the theme “Transformational Leadership for National Development in a Changing World.”

The event is expected to draw 500-700 participants, including policymakers, corporate executives, academics, and postgraduate students, and will provide a platform for high-level discussions on leadership and national development.

She added that the Summit aims to enhance CMLI’s visibility, foster partnerships, attract grants and consultancies, and contribute to national leadership conversations.

Dr Odebode also confirmed a One-Day Staff Development Workshop for all University staff, designed to improve leadership skills, ethical competence, emotional intelligence, communication, and workplace harmony. The programme will feature presentations, interactive discussions, case reflections, and Q&A sessions.

She expressed confidence that both the Summit and the workshop will strengthen leadership capacity, showcase the University of Ilorin’s commitment to excellence, and position the University of Ilorin as a hub for leadership development in Nigeria.
