Dangote Granite Mines Gives Bursaries to Students in Ijebu-Igbo
Dangote Granite Mines, a subsidiary of Dangote Industries Limited, has awarded bursaries to students from its host communities in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, reinforcing its commitment to youth empowerment and education.
The initiative benefited 40 tertiary-level and 20 secondary-school students across the Ayebandele, Olorunmodu, Saliu Babarisi, and Idi Omo communities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Joseph Alabi, General Manager, Community Relations, noted that the bursary scheme is designed to provide ongoing support throughout students’ academic journeys.
He emphasised that the initiative complements other interventions, including classroom renovations, solar-powered boreholes, health centre development, and cultural heritage preservation projects.
High Chief Ademola Ariyo, representing the Sopinlukale of Oke-Sopin, lauded Dangote Granite Mines for its consistent contributions to community development, describing the educational support as an investment in Ijebu-Igbo’s future.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, stating that the bursary will ensure they complete their tertiary education seamlessly and help them focus on their studies without financial worries.
