Hon. Yakubu Dati, Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State
The Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, Hon. Yakubu Dati, has praised the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) for rejecting the proposed nationwide protest against the Federal Government, describing the decision as patriotic and stabilising.
Dati made the remark during the inauguration of the institution’s Governing Council, attended by key stakeholders, including the Students’ Union Government of the Polytechnic. He said the move by NANS had frustrated attempts by opposition elements to drag the country into unnecessary unrest.
Earlier, the Rector, Dr Ademola Ebeloku, highlighted the institution’s modest achievements and expressed confidence that the new council would address its challenges. Dati, alongside other council members, commended students for supporting the government’s education policies and urged them to take advantage of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
The council also paid a courtesy visit to HRM Oba Dr Julius Adetimehin, the Jegun Olu-Ekun of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, who assured them of the community’s continued support.
Dati reaffirmed the council’s commitment to advancing the institution in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasising dialogue and collaboration as pathways to national progress.
