DEPOWA Pledges Quality Education for Children

The Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA) has restated its commitment to giving children, especially those of security personnel—quality education, moral guidance, and full development.

During the annual Prize Giving Day of DEPOWA Nursery, Primary, and Secondary School, DEPOWA President, Mrs Oghogho Musa, highlighted significant improvements under her leadership. The proposed upgrades include painting school buildings, improving science laboratories, setting up new computers, and adding a 100KVA generator to ensure a steady power supply. A brand-new cooking studio was also opened to train students and learners from the DEPOWA Skills Acquisition Centre. Staff members are now better cared for, with salary increases and free health checks. Students got free eye tests, and female staff received cervical cancer screenings.

Mrs. Musa thanked the teachers for helping to raise future leaders and also appreciated the parents for their continued support. Awards were given to students for both academic and non-academic excellence. The school’s acting commandant, Major Samuel Buzugbe, said students are now better prepared to solve real-life problems.
