Senator Dino Melaye, a former lawmaker, has graduated from the Nigerian Law School and was called to the bar on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
Following the graduation with 5,734 other lawyers, Melaye is being criticised online for a grammatical error on his call-to-bar reception banner. Many lawyers said the banner, which read “Sen. Dino Melaye Chamber,” should be “Sen. Dino Melaye Chambers.”
A lawyer said, “If he had passed through proper mentorship, such a mistake would have been caught.” The ex-lawmaker’s supporters described the mistake as a “printer’s devil.” Regardless, many said that, being a public figure, he should have reviewed the materials properly.
