Prof.Jesse Uneke, the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences, has received the Distinguished Service Award from the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Ebonyi State.
The NMA presented the award to the Vice-Chancellor during the 2025 Physicians’ Week in honour of his commitment to developing medical education in Nigeria.
The Vice-Chancellor, represented by Prof. Mrs Nkiruka Folaranmi, the deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), appreciated the association for the recognition and reaffirmed his continued support for humanity, students’ training, and staff welfare.
In her remarks, Folaranmi expressed that the Vice-Chancellor is well deserving of the award as he is a trendsetter in the medical profession and has contributed to societal growth and development.
