Arc. Bature Tagwai, the Director of Public Building at the FCDA
Arc. Bature Tagwai, the Director of Public Buildings at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), has urged young Nigerian architects to embrace self-improvement, diligence, and thoroughness to build a successful career.
Addressing newsmen, the director said young professionals should focus on self-driven education and global awareness, stressing that architecture requires a high level of personal commitment.
He said, “Architecture does not condone laziness. You must be prompt, decisive, and diligent in any design situation you encounter. Anything worth doing is worth doing well.”
In addition, he explained that architects must not wait for others to teach them; instead, they must expand their capacity by teaching themselves.
He also stated that architects must stay up to date with developments in the modern built environment.
