Major General Olatoye Oluyemi, Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA)
The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has advised its newly promoted officers to embrace the core principles of command, leadership, and management as the basis for excellent military service.
In a statement, Major Reuben Kovangiya, the academy’s public relations officer, said Major General Olatoye Oluyemi, the academy’s commandant, congratulated the officers, noting that their promotion attests to their consistency, loyalty, adherence, and dedication to the core values of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
He also reminded them that their promotion entails greater responsibilities, emphasising that teamwork, sound decision-making, professionalism, and character are qualities military officers must possess.
The commandant noted that true leaders correct, inspire growth, and guide, urging officers to lead through mentorship, develop their subordinates, and maintain integrity.
