The Federal Government has approved a new school called World Innovators University Institute (WIU-Institute) in Lagos. The goal of the project is to position the country as a centre for global innovation.
The World Innovators University is the initiator of the project, collaborating with other partners. According to the WIU-Institute, the school will focus on research, developing new ideas, and teaching students the skills they need for the future. It plans to offer online and in-class training, mentorship, and enterprise support to young people, professionals, and leaders. The institute will serve as the base for the Global Centre for Innovation and Knowledge Management and is expected to help bridge knowledge gaps and grow human capital across Nigeria.
Prof. Christian Harrison and Prof. Ashok K. Gupta described the move as a significant step in enhancing Nigeria’s global competitiveness and educational reform. With its headquarters in Lagos and plans for expansion across Nigeria, the WIU-Institute invites stakeholders to join in building a smarter, innovation-driven future.
