Authorities at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, have raised the alarm over fake admissions being offered to candidates who scored 150 and above in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The university stated that some fraudsters had taken to social media to advertise admissions into its College of Management Sciences (COLMAS), requesting candidates to apply.
In a statement on Thursday, the Registrar, Dr Nkeiruka Charity Mbanasor, warned the public to disregard the posts, stressing that the university has not fixed any cut-off mark, and neither has JAMB, nor the school’s admission board approved such.
It warned the unsuspecting admission seekers and the general public against falling for the fraudsters and advised them to use the university’s official website.
The university, however, confirmed that the undergraduate programmes in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Economics, Marketing, and Business Administration at MOUAU are now fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and have also been listed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
