FUOYE Installs Hybrid Solar Inverter to Boost Innovation Hub

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has installed a 12 kVA hybrid solar inverter at its Innovation Hub, marking a significant step toward advancing campus technology and digital learning. The initiative is part of Vice-Chancellor Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina’s drive to equip students with skills in technology, creativity, and problem-solving.

Speaking on the development, the Director of Innovation and Digital Technology, Professor O.S. Ayanda, praised Prof. Fasina for his commitment to building the university’s technological capacity through strategic investments in digital infrastructure and innovation-focused programmes.

Prof. Ayanda also acknowledged the role of Vice-Chancellor-Designate, Professor Joshua Ogunwole, whose mentorship and guidance have been pivotal in shaping FUOYE’s innovation strategy. “His vision and collaborative leadership continue to inspire the Innovation Hub and strengthen its long-term direction,” he said.

The Head of Procurement, Mr Vincent Ateniola, was commended for expediting the purchase and installation of the solar inverter, ensuring timely delivery and implementation.

The solar-powered upgrade is expected to provide uninterrupted electricity for training, research, and digital skill development activities, reinforcing FUOYE’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for technological learning and entrepreneurship on campus.
