FUOYE Reshuffles Departmental Heads Ahead of Session

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has started a major internal reshuffling to improve its operations ahead of the new academic year. Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olubunmi Shittu, said the changes are meant to help the university serve the large number of students applying for admission. According to JAMB, FUOYE has the third highest number of applications for the 2025/2026 session.

Prof. Shittu explained that all directors who have spent more than four years will be replaced, and new department heads will be chosen by seniority—unless the most senior officer is facing disciplinary issues. The university’s Governing Council approved most of the changes but stopped the appointment of a new procurement officer. They said it would delay important projects and that the post must follow due process. A recent TETFund memo also raised concerns about ongoing evaluations of major projects on campus.
