The Kwara State Government has ordered all schools operating creches to register or renew their licences by June 30, 2025, as part of efforts to safeguard children and improve early childhood care. The directive comes under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
This directive, announced by the Commissioner for Social Development, Hajia Mariam Nnafatima Imam, is part of a comprehensive reform aimed at ensuring only certified and well-equipped childcare facilities operate in Kwara. The Ministry has also constituted a dedicated monitoring task force to enforce compliance across the state.
Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration prioritises child welfare and quality education as key to its social development drive.
The new policy underscores the government’s commitment to effectively regulate early childhood care, ensuring that young children are raised in safe and supportive environments.
Parents have also been encouraged to support the initiative by enrolling their children only in government-approved creches, thereby contributing to a safer and more structured learning foundation for the state’s future leaders.
