Prof. Olubukola Dada, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) at Kwara State University, has urged Nigerians to meaningfully include people living with disabilities in society.
Delivering his keynote address at the 2025 International Day of Persons with Disabilities celebration, organised by the Centre for Students with Special Needs at the university, he stressed that the public should eliminate all forms of discrimination and attitudes that limit inclusion.
Represented by Prof. Kelechi Uchemadu Lazarus from the Department of Special Needs at the University of Ibadan (UI), at the event titled ‘Fostering Disability-Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress,’ Dada highlighted the need for a society that prioritises inclusion, equal rights, and opportunities for people with disabilities.
Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, the vice chancellor of the institution, represented by Prof. Moji Taibat Bakare-Odunola, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), advised students with disabilities to believe in themselves and assured them of the possibility of achieving greatness.
