Kwara State University (KWASU) has held a one-day sensitisation programme for its drivers and mechanics, focusing on health and financial well-being.
The event, organised by the university’s Mechanical and Transportation Unit, took place on Friday at the Malete campus.
Speaking on behalf of Vice-Chancellor Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Moshood Mahmood Jimba, said the initiative reflected KWASU’s commitment to staff welfare. He described the training as timely and central to improving productivity across the institution.
Registrar Dr Kikelomo Sallee said the programme was in line with the university’s mission to build a healthy and empowered workforce. She noted that support staff play a critical role in the smooth running of the university.
The convener, Engineer Shakira Adedeji, stated that the workshop was designed to equip participants with knowledge beyond technical skills, particularly in health and finance, to enhance their quality of life and job performance.
The programme is part of KWASU’s broader efforts to integrate staff development with institutional growth.
