Clinical lecturers at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) have issued a 21-day ultimatum to the university management over the non-implementation of the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS). The lecturers announced the ultimatum in a statement released on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
According to them, LAUTECH is the only university in the South-West yet to implement CONMESS despite a strike action initiated to ensure it is done. They mentioned that Prof. Rasaq Kalilu, the university’s vice chancellor, promised to address the situation, but there has been no result. Hence, they urged Governor Seyi Makinde and other stakeholders to intervene in the situation, stating that failure to implement the salary structure would lead to an indefinite strike.
