Ayomiposi Ojajuni, Nigerian Law School student, dies by suicide after being barred from taking Bar exam
Olajuni Ayomiposi, a 27-year-old Nigerian Law School Student at the Yola Campus, has committed suicide after he was stopped from writing his final examination.
Following the incident, the Adamawa State Police Command investigated the student’s cause of death.
In a statement signed by Sulaiman Nguroje, the commamd’s public relations officer, it stated, “On the 07/12/2025, the Command received a report from the Chief Security Officer of the institution, that on 06/12/2025 at about 11:30 am, a student named Ojajuni Ayomiposi returned to the campus in a tricycle, visibly staggering, and jumped over the fence into the hostel premises.”
The statement added that Ayomiposi was seen vomiting and lying unconscious after he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead while receiving treatment.
In addition, an investigation ordered by CP Dankombo Morris, the Commissioner of Police, revealed that the student ingested rat poison on December 6 and died on December 7 at the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital.
According to a few accounts obtained during the investigation, Ayomiposi was prevented from sitting for his examination after failing to answer a question posed by a school authority.
Another account said he did not have 75 per cent of attendance and was unqualified for the examination.
