On Friday, June 27, 2025, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Dr Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, led staff and students in a powerful prayer meeting, known as the June Solemn Assembly.

The event took place in the school auditorium and was attended by top school leaders, lecturers, other staff members, and numerous students. The theme of the prayer meeting was “Receive the Grace to Do More,” with the main Bible verse from 2 Corinthians 9:8.

Rev. Fr. Franklin Ogbonna, who delivered the sermon, urged everyone to seek God’s help and to live honestly and with purpose. He warned against corruption and advised people to hold on to godly values, even when life is hard. The CASOR Choir sang worship songs that touched the hearts of many. Special prayers were said for the school, its leaders, and Nigeria. Dr Igbokwe reminded everyone that good leaders must follow God’s guidance.
