The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has charged newly inducted engineering graduates of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s development through innovation and professionalism.
Speaking at the induction of the university’s eighth set of engineering graduates, NSE President, Engr. Margaret Oguntala, represented by the Akure Branch Chairman, Engr. Oluwaseun Adeyeye urged the inductees to stay up to date with evolving technologies and global best practices.
“As engineers, we must think outside the box, challenge conventions, and provide innovative solutions to real-world problems,” she said, while emphasising collaboration, integrity, and continuous learning as core to professional growth.
Elizade University’s Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof Sunday Adeyemo, described engineering as “a calling to create, solve problems, and improve lives,” charging the graduates to uphold ethical standards and embrace lifelong learning.
Similarly, the Dean of Engineering, Prof Dare Adetan, advised them to remain curious and proactive in tackling emerging challenges in infrastructure, energy and technology.
