Ogun SUG Leaders Back Governor’s Student Aide

Comrade Adeyemi Azeez, Special Assistant to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Student Matters

Student Union Government (SUG) leaders across Ogun State tertiary institutions have expressed complete confidence in Comrade Adeyemi Azeez, Special Assistant to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Student Matters.

In a statement on Sunday, the presidents of the state’s student unions jointly praised Azeez for prioritising student welfare and supporting policies beneficial to students. The unions also emphasised that their support aims to enable Azeez to succeed in his role.

The SUG leaders distanced themselves from a recent controversial statement attributed to the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Ogun Joint Campus Committee, which alleged diversion of palliatives. They described the document as forged, fraudulent, and a blackmail attempt against Azeez.

“We neither authored, endorsed, nor granted permission for our names to be included in that statement,” the unions said, urging the public and relevant authorities to disregard the claims.
Signatories included SUG presidents from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, and other tertiary institutions in the state.

The unions condemned the forgery, called on the perpetrators to desist, and reaffirmed their commitment to integrity, accountability, and responsible student leadership.
