Renaissance Africa Energy Company has reinforced its commitment to youth empowerment, education and community development while advocating for energy security and industrialisation.
At the University of Ibadan’s alumni homecoming, Managing Director Tony Attah delivered the Distinguished Alumni Lecture, “Energy, Security and Economic Sustainability: The Role of Nigeria’s Oil and Gas Sector in National Development.”
He stressed that addressing energy poverty is crucial for Nigeria’s economic growth and creating opportunities that can transform lives.
Renaissance, according to Attah, was founded to position Nigeria at the forefront of African industrialisation, leveraging both private and government support to tackle long-standing energy challenges.
During the event, Renaissance and its joint venture partners, NNPC, TotalEnergies, and Agip Energy, commissioned a synthetic mini football pitch, named the ‘Renaissance JV Arena,’ as a symbol of their commitment to student and community development. Attah also sponsored the renovation of Independence Hall’s reading rooms and supported the solar-powered ‘Light Up U.I. Project.’
The lecture concluded with the conferment of an Award of Excellence on Attah, recognising his leadership in sustainable energy development, his contributions to the oil and gas sector, and his dedication to educational and community initiatives.
