Free shuttle buses and boats have resumed operations across Ondo State, courtesy of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s OUR EASE agenda, as schools reopen.
The initiative is designed to ease student transportation, reduce the financial burden on parents, and improve access to education. The resumption was confirmed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Media, Otunba Oyekan. From Akure to riverine communities in Laje and Ese Odo, students are now benefiting from safe and reliable free rides.
The service officially resumed on September 15 with the start of the new academic session. During a monitoring exercise in Akure, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Francis Ayodele, commended the governor for funding and staffing the services for the next 13 weeks.
Ayodele assured residents that the buses in urban centres and boats in riverine areas remain free of charge. He urged students to maintain orderliness and comply with the rules governing the programme.
