The third Egypt-Nigeria educational fair has opened in Abuja, bringing together top Egyptian universities to strengthen academic cooperation, expand scholarship opportunities, and promote cross-border innovation.
The fair, which runs from September 15 to 20, began at the Hilton Abuja Hotel and will continue in Kaduna, Zaria, and Kano. Participating institutions include Cairo University, Ain Shams University, El-Galala University, and Badr University.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr Assem Hassaballa El-Sheikh, Supervisor of General Exhibitions, described the fair as a platform for African academic collaboration. He commended the Nigerian Embassy in Cairo and Egyptian Ambassador Mohamed Fouad for facilitating the initiative.
Prof Ibrahim Muhammad, Director-General of Nigeria Arabic Village, welcomed the delegation, recalling centuries-old educational ties between the two countries and encouraging Nigerian students to explore study opportunities in Egypt.
Declaring the fair open, Ambassador Fouad reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to educational cooperation, stressing that academic exchange remains central to the long-standing bilateral relationship.
