Oyebanji Appoints Prof. Omojola BOUESTI VC

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved Prof. Andrew Babatunde Omojola as the new Vice-Chancellor of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI).


Omojola, a specialist in Animal Products and Processing/Food Safety, was previously Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Ibadan.


The appointment takes immediate effect, with Omojola succeeding Prof. Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa, whose tenure ends on January 6, 2026. Born on August 14, 1962, in Usi-Ekiti, Omojola earned his B.Sc., M.Sc., and PhD in Animal Science from the University of Ibadan. He began his lecturing career in 1997 and became a Professor in 2011.


His academic contributions include serving as a Visiting Professor at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, and an External Examiner at the Universities of Calabar and Osun State. He has also held leadership roles at UI, including Head of Animal Products and Processing, Director of the Teaching and Research Farm, and Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.


Governor Oyebanji urged the new Vice-Chancellor to leverage his experience to reposition BOUESTI as a world-class institution, while thanking Adeoluwa for his service and wishing him success in his future endeavours.
