Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, has donated ₦10 million to the Anglican School of Nursing Sciences, Oji River, Enugu State, to support infrastructure and academic development.
During the visit, Obi reassured his commitment to strengthening education and healthcare, describing investment in human capital as the foundation for national progress. He commended the Anglican Diocese for its consistent contribution to healthcare education and urged students to uphold discipline and excellence.
Bishop Ikechukwu Joseph Egbuonu of Oji River Diocese thanked Obi for his generosity, describing him as a model of selfless leadership. He disclosed that the Diocese had established free secondary schools and an agricultural farm to empower the community, aligning with Obi’s production-driven philosophy.
Obi also visited the Oji River General Hospital, which had recently returned to the Church by the Enugu State Government and called for financial support to restore the facility. He praised Governor Peter Mbah for the gesture and ongoing reforms in the state.
Obi was accompanied by Prof Chinyere Stella Okunna, who lauded his enduring dedication to education and healthcare.
