The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil in Kano State, has told applicants to ignore a recent disclaimer by the Police Service Commission (PSC) and continue applying for its 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes.
The PSC had earlier claimed that the academy’s admission advert was illegal, stating that only the commission has the power to recruit into the police force. However, the Police Academy, backed by the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs, dismissed the claim as false and misleading.
According to the academy’s spokesperson, Bolaji Kazeem, the ongoing admission process is entirely in line with guidelines from the National Universities Commission and the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs. He stressed that university admissions do not fall under the PSC’s authority. The academy confirmed that the application portal remains open until September 8, 2025, as earlier announced. Interested candidates are encouraged to proceed with their applications and disregard the PSC’s statement.
