Mrs Edumma Enobong Essien, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ukana, has pledged to make the institution more practice-focused.
She added that technical education must exceed paper qualifications and focus on innovation, industry, and invention.
Essien expressed her determination to bridge the gap between theory and practice, while expanding learning beyond classrooms. According to her, a country that ignores technical education will suffer unemployment and underdevelopment.
Contributing to the country’s growth, the federal government has reaffirmed its decision to make technical education accessible and free to Nigerian children.
