Following complications from an earlier process, the Sokoto State Government has announced a fresh verification exercise for its indigenous students at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS).
The initial verification, held on March 15 and 16, 2025, at Sultan Abubakar College of Education, aimed to facilitate the payment of tuition fees for the 2024/2025 academic session.
However, many students failed to regenerate their Remita invoices, a crucial step for processing payments.
In a statement released on April 13, 2025, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Student Matters disclosed that the re-verification became necessary after the university submitted a list of students who had successfully generated their Remita invoices.
The government intends to ensure that all eligible students receive the financial support allocated for their education.
Students are advised to attend the upcoming verification exercise with all necessary documents related to their school fees to avoid delays.
Details regarding the venue, date, and time of the re-verification will be communicated soon.
