The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have expressed concern about the delays in their salary payments. The associations condemned the government for paying only 20 per cent (₦10 billion) of their ₦50 billion allowance to them and the National Association of Academic Technologists NAAT).
They added that some federal and state universities are owed arrears ranging from 25 to 35 per cent of the salary increases, pensions, and third-party deductions. In response, the Federal Government has organised a committee to address the issues and create a resolution structure within a week.
