Prof. Ayobami Ayeni from Ajayi Crowther University has implored the Federal Government to enhance educational quality by allocating a special budget for research.
He also called on the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology to fund the country’s research centres to enable them to conduct research in Information and Communication Technology. Ayeni condemned the government’s neglect of research in universities. He also said that the heads of research centres should be professionals chosen on merit. Describing education as the foundation of national development, he said universities must adopt measures that enable them to assess their students’ performance.
