The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has emphasised the importance of innovation and planning in enhancing basic education throughout Nigeria. Speaking at the KADA EduPact International Summit in Kaduna, the Executive Secretary of UBEC, Aisha Garba, stated that the goal is to build a system that leaves no child behind.
She praised Kaduna State for reducing the number of out-of-school children and called for stronger partnerships between UBEC and state governments to tackle education challenges. Garba also announced that UBEC is implementing reforms to enhance results. These include training teachers, updating the curriculum, using more technology in classrooms, and holding schools more accountable.
She said UBEC’s approach is to match national goals with local needs, ensuring every Nigerian child has access to quality education. The commission believes that with exemplary leadership and teamwork, the future of basic education in Nigeria will be brighter.
