Elder George Ugwunna, the Executive Director of Global Model Academy, Bagusa, Dei Dei, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has urged the Nigerian Senate to enact legislation that supports private schools in Nigeria.
He stated that private schools have more enrolment than public schools in certain areas, therefore appealing to the Senate to provide grants that can help private schools deliver quality education.
In addition, he highlighted that private schools face challenges such as limited government support, multiple taxation, and a lack of finance. Mrs. Comfort Ugwunna, the managing director of the school, urged the government to reduce multiple taxation for private schools.
