Nile University of Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Southampton, UK, to promote academic exchange and joint research initiatives between the two institutions. The agreement, signed by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dilli Dogo and Professor Andrew Atherton, Vice President International & Engagement at Southampton, establishes a framework for collaboration in teaching, technology development, student and staff mobility, and shared academic programmes.
Under the new partnership, both institutions will engage in faculty and student exchanges, co-host conferences and seminars, and explore collaborative research in key areas of focus. The MoU also includes provisions for academic resource sharing and technology commercialisation.
Professor Dogo described the agreement as a step toward strengthening Nile University’s global academic footprint and providing students with greater international exposure. Professor Atherton noted that Southampton looks forward to deepening ties with Nile University in support of academic excellence and innovation.
This development aligns with Nile University’s broader strategy to expand global partnerships and strengthen its research and teaching capacities.
