The Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has announced a change of venue for its first-ever alumni homecoming, originally scheduled to hold on the university campus.
According to a notice signed by the Head of Department, Prof. P. U. Asogwa, the relocation became necessary due to the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), which has affected on-campus activities.
The event will now occur at the Jerry Marriott Hotel, Odenigbo, Ugwuawarawa, Nsukka, while the date and time remain unchanged — Friday, October 24 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
Asogwa expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the change and urged alumni and guests to take note of the new venue, assuring that the programme will proceed as planned.
The homecoming, the first in the department’s history, is expected to bring together graduates from different years to reconnect, share experiences and explore ways to contribute to the growth of the department.
