Uche Nnaji, a former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and Prof. Simon Ortuanya, the Vice Chancellor, have urged the Federal High Court in Abuja to strike out the certificate forgery allegation case filed by Uche Nnaji, a former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, as it is statute-barred.
Nnaji, in his motion, moved that UNN and its officials stop tampering with his credentials and academic records.
He also urged the court to issue a prerogative writ of mandamus, ordering the institution to release his academic transcripts.
Responding, the university and its officials issued a prerogative writ, claiming the case was wrongly started and incompetent.
In addition, they argued that the case was not filed within three months of the institution alleging him of certificate forgery.
Justice Yilwa has therefore adjourned the matter until January 13, 2026, for hearing, ordering the issuance of a hearing notice to each party involved in the case.
