Renowned entertainment executive and talent manager, Soso Soberekon, popularly known as #Whitelion, has launched a scholarship initiative to support students across Rivers State.
In a post on his verified Instagram account, Soberekon announced that he will cover the tuition fees for 23 students, one from each of the state’s 23 local government areas. The initiative targets students in universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
“Education remains the strongest investment in the future. Every young person deserves the chance to learn, grow, and succeed,” he wrote, emphasising that the selection process will be transparent and inclusive.
Soberekon, known for his influence in Nigeria’s music and events industry, has increasingly focused on philanthropy, particularly youth empowerment and education. His latest move has drawn praise from fans, public figures, and educational advocates, who described it as both impactful and inspiring.
Rivers State, a key educational hub, faces challenges in access to quality tertiary education for many students. Observers say initiatives like Soberekon’s can help bridge the gap between talent and opportunity, relieving financial pressures on families and motivating young people to pursue their academic goals.
Full details on the application and disbursement are expected to be announced soon, but the announcement has already sparked excitement across social media.
