A man named Allen Wogu, who claims to be a classmate of Nyesom Wike, has accused the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister of lying about his past. Wike had stated on national TV that he drove a Mercedes-Benz while studying at the University of Port Harcourt in the late 1980s.
Wogu quickly reacted on Facebook, saying Wike was a poor student who did not even own a bicycle, let alone a car. He described Wike as someone who wore cheap sandals and came from a modest background.
This comes after Wike denied allegations of corruption and claimed he is a self-made man from a wealthy family. He also stated that he purchased his Rolls-Royce himself and never accepted bribes for contracts. However, some people who claim to have known him and his family say that Wike’s father was a pastor, not a company manager, and that the family was not wealthy.
