Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Tuesday donated 32-seater Toyota Coaster buses to the School for Special Needs, Ilorin, and Queen Elizabeth School. The gesture follows requests from the schools and builds on ongoing government support since 2019.
Speaking at the School for Special Needs in Oyun, Ilorin, AbdulRazaq said the intervention was aimed at improving mobility and learning conditions for students. He noted that the institution has about 500 students with various special needs requiring consistent government attention.
The governor listed previous interventions, including the provision of learning aids, hearing machines, solar facilities, and streetlights. He also pledged continued support for the schools.
At Queen Elizabeth School, AbdulRazaq promised to address other needs, such as perimeter fencing and electricity supply, while commending the legacy of the school’s founders.
The donations were received with gratitude by school authorities and alumni. Alhaji Abdulganiyi Olododo, Principal of the School for Special Needs, described the bus as a “memorable gift.”
Alhaja Rashidat Oluwakemi Abdul, Principal of Queen Elizabeth School, and Dr Funke Opadokun, President of the Queen Elizabeth Old Students Association, also commended the governor’s interventions in education and infrastructure.
