Founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Aare Afe Babalola (SAN), will lead discussions on strengthening democracy and advancing education at the forthcoming South-West Stakeholders Dialogue convened by Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.
The regional summit, themed “Strengthening Democracy Through Dialogue: Assessing Progress, Charting the Future,” will be held from October 29 to 30, 2025, at the International Conference Centre (The Dome), Akure, Ondo State.
The dialogue will feature policymakers, academics, and civic leaders across the six South-West states, focusing on education as a cornerstone for democratic stability and regional growth. Afe Babalola is expected to deliver a special address on democracy and leadership, highlighting the role of education in building accountable institutions and informed citizens.
Other speakers include Archbishop Emeritus Ayo Ladigbolu and governance expert Dr Ayo Awoyemi, who will share insights on leadership, policy reform, and youth development through education.
Organised in partnership with the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission, the summit seeks to strengthen collaboration between government and academia in shaping the region’s future.
