Ankpa College Moves Against Cultism

The Provost of the College of Education, Ankpa, Kogi State, Dr Paul Femi Fashagba, has restated his administration’s zero tolerance for cultism and related vices, warning that offenders will face the full weight of the law.

Dr Fashagba issued the warning in Lokoja after receiving an Award of Excellence from the Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) during its 2025 Press Week. He stressed that cult activities threaten campus safety and academic progress, and his leadership would not allow such practices to thrive.

The provost also commended Governor Usman Ododo for prioritising education in the state. He revealed that government plans are underway to harmonise the College of Education, Technical, with the State College of Education, Ankpa, to improve efficiency and learning outcomes.

The move against cultism, he said, is part of a broader reform effort to safeguard students, strengthen academic standards, and create a safer environment for learning.
