A lecturer at Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI), has gone viral after posting a TikTok video of his students’ failed attempt at corporate dressing.
The lecturer, identified online as @badboyy.mo, had asked his class to appear in formal outfits for a presentation meant to simulate a workplace environment. His goal was to teach students the importance of professional appearance alongside competence.
However, the result was far from what he expected. Instead of suits, ties, or smart skirts, many students showed up in rumpled shirts, casual T-shirts tucked into trousers, jeans, and even bathroom slippers. The video, which captured the mismatch, sparked laughter and debate on social media about campus life and students’ understanding of workplace culture.
Observers have noted that the clip underscores the importance of emphasising professionalism and grooming as part of efforts to prepare undergraduates for life after graduation.
