BUK Student to Attempt Guinness World Records

A student of Bayero University Kano (BUK), Collins Whitworth, will on October 1 attempt to break two Guinness World Records in face painting, with sponsorship from Indomie Instant Noodles.

Whitworth plans to paint more than 12 faces in three minutes and over 220 in one hour. The current record of 12 faces in three minutes was set in July by Emilia Zakonnova.

The Kano-born student had previously attempted to set a Guinness World Record in 2024 but was unsuccessful. He says the experience has prepared him for the new challenge. “That attempt taught me valuable lessons. This time, I am coming more focused, more determined, and more prepared,” he said.

Indomie described its support as part of its commitment to youth and creativity. “We believe in giving young Nigerians the platform to pursue their dreams,” the company said in a statement.

Organisers say the event will draw students, art enthusiasts and supporters in Kano. They add that beyond setting records, the attempt aims to showcase Nigerian talent and resilience on a global stage.
