Sen. Ita Enang, the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has advised the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to return to work.
“My advice to ASUU is to call off the strike and go back to work while they continue with negotiations with the Federal Government.”
He added that the federal government should sue the union for demanding unpaid salaries while on strike, as they flouted a 2023 court order. While the strike is ongoing, the Nigerian Association of Medical and Dental Academics (NAMDA) has clarified that it cannot be forced to join the strike.
