The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) has officially inducted 1,097 new members at its 64th Induction Ceremony held in Lagos.
CIPM President, Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, reminded all HR practitioners that having CIPM certification is not just a professional requirement but a legal one. According to the law, anyone practising Human Resource Management in Nigeria without CIPM certification is breaking the law, whether in the government, private sector, or NGOs.
The new members joined through three different routes: 21 via the Executive Route, 212 through the HR Practitioners Route, and 864 as Associate Members through the Professional Examination Route. Gobir described the induction as more than a formality. “You are now responsible for shaping workplace culture and supporting business growth,” he told the inductees. The Institute pledged to continue to promote excellence and professionalism in HR across Nigeria while ensuring compliance with the law.
