Federal Government Monitors₦30bn Revitalisation Fund Use at FUNAAB

The Federal Government’s Implementation Monitoring Committee (IMC) has inspected projects funded through the ₦30 billion Revitalisation Fund at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).

The monitoring visit, part of a nationwide exercise across 60 public universities, was led by former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Yola, Professor Salihu Mustafa. The team reviewed ongoing and completed projects financed by the 2021 Intervention Fund.

Among the facilities inspected were a newly completed postgraduate hostel, furnished undergraduate hostels, an extended Senate chamber, and a three-megawatt hybrid solar farm, which has powered the university for six months.

FUNAAB Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babatunde Kehinde, said the institution had set up a Budget Monitoring Committee to ensure transparent and inclusive use of the intervention funds.

The IMC will submit its findings in a report to the Federal Ministry of Education as part of efforts to strengthen infrastructure, teaching, and research in Nigerian universities.
