The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has strengthened partnerships with agripreneurs to expand its food production projects across Ogun State.
The University’s Pro-Chancellor, Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, stated this during a tour of FUNAAB’s partner farms, where he commended the progress recorded through collaborations with private agricultural enterprises.
Accompanied by Vice-Chancellor Professor Babatunde Kehinde and members of the Governing Council, Oba Olabomi inspected ongoing projects at Musarchy Farms, Harvest Field Farms, Auxano Farms, and Zino Agritech Farms.
At the sites, the Council reviewed greenhouse pepper cultivation, cassava processing, and large-scale pawpaw plantations. The Pro-Chancellor urged the partners to deepen mechanisation and adopt digital technologies to improve yields.
He said FUNAAB’s partnerships were part of efforts to demonstrate how research-based farming could support the Federal Government’s food security agenda.
“FUNAAB is showing that collaboration between universities and agripreneurs can turn farmlands into productive hubs,” Oba Olabomi said.
