The Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has restated its zero-tolerance stance on abandoned or substandard projects, following an extensive inspection of key infrastructure across the campus.
Leading the exercise, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, said the tour was part of efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in project execution. He emphasised that all projects under the current administration reflect the University’s “commitment to quality and sustainability.”
During the visit, the Council inspected completed and ongoing works, including the Principal Officers’ Quarters, the College of Physical Sciences Phase II Building, a 120-capacity TETFund hostel, and the Veterinary Anatomy Laboratory. Oba Olabomi commended the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babatunde Kehinde, for what he described as “visible progress” across all sites.
Professor Kehinde, in his remarks, attributed the progress to strong Council oversight and pledged that all ongoing works would be completed to specification. He announced plans to commence Phase II of the Veterinary Anatomy Laboratory next year and confirmed that the University’s automated abattoir and Greenhouse projects were nearing completion.
