The Kano State Government has set up a committee to oversee the skill acquisition initiative in tertiary institutions. The initiative aims to align education with practical job market demands and promote self-reliance among graduates. Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), stated that the concept demonstrates the government’s commitment to cultivating job creators rather than job seekers. He admonished the committee to address the issue of graduates being unemployable and to introduce frameworks that integrate vocational training with academic studies.
